Lying on the tatami, feeling my calm breath, I couldn't help but feel happy and moved. No stuffy nose, no sore throat, no headache, and no fever.
A week ago, I felt cold and thought to myself, "Could it be a cold?" So I left work early and went home, thinking that taking a hot bath would make me feel better. But my body temperature rose from 37.6 to 39.1. Afraid of getting a higher fever, I quickly went to the pharmacy to buy fever-reducing medicine. It worked at first, but I started to have a fever again at night, accompanied by a headache. By the next morning, my temperature was still 38.5, so I had to take a sick leave. At that time, I didn't realize that I had contracted COVID-19. I thought it was because I went out in the rain. In the evening, there was still no improvement, and my throat started to hurt. It was then that I realized it might be something more serious.
On the third day, I went to the hospital. It was the first time since the pandemic that I had my nose swabbed for a nucleic acid test. My record was broken, and indeed, the result was positive. I got the medicine and went back home. I rested for another two days. The fever completely subsided, but my throat still felt uncomfortable and there was some phlegm, although I didn't cough.
I worked from home for a day and rested for another two days on the weekend. Apart from my voice sounding a bit strange, I was completely fine. Every breath I took was so refreshing. The only downside was that I lost 5 kilograms of weight, which I need to slowly regain. I haven't had much appetite recently, so I've been eating snacks like jelly and ice cream every day. Tonight, I even bought watermelon and peaches. My stomach is full and round, and I feel satisfied and happy. It's been a long time since I felt this happy. I recovered my energy so quickly! And I haven't been coughing either. My body is truly amazing! I love her!
